Originally from Maryland, Jen relocated to the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2013, after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was inspired to begin her business, Blue Lotus Design Studios, during her yoga teacher training course at Asheville Community Yoga, and has since participated in dozens of local and regional art festivals. Deeply inspired by Mother Nature and the traditions of Yoga, Jen specializes in creating elegant and one-of-a-kind, wire-wrapped, gemstone jewelry and Mala meditation bead necklaces. Each pendant is meticulously wrapped, coiled, and woven by hand, using Sterling Silver and/or 14k Gold filled wire. Jen enjoys incorporating organic shapes, mixing metals, and exploring contrast through color & texture. She selects and pairs gemstones based upon their inherent beauty and aesthetic elements, as well as metaphysical properties and spiritual significance, and presents a collection of work that is equally stunning and meaningful.
